Let Lake County Dog Walkers & Pet-Sitting Services
Let Your Dogs Out!
Lake County
Dog Walkers
& Pet-Sitting
Services is the perfect, tailored-to-your needs and budget, home-style service for the fun, exercise, and
companionship your dogs and pets require and long for.
Our primary goal is to offer a compassionate,
common-sense pet-sitting/pet-care alternative for the many dog owners in Mentor, Ohio and surrounding Lake County suburbs reluctant to use a kennel, or
prohibited for a variety of reasons from enrolling their dog(s) in full time doggie daycare.
Our budget-friendly, full
40-minute-long dog walks and mid-day potty breaks accommodate most
work and holiday schedules, give your dogs enormous joy, and save you a great deal on higher priced, often less time-generous pet-sitting services.
While free doggie sleepovers--see rates and services--from
our Mentor, Ohio residence have limited availability (particularly in winter), we feel regular and occasional dog walks from your
home or ours; mid-day potty/play breaks while you're away at work or on vacation; plus various
other pet-care services, will keep your dogs, cats--not to mention, bunnies, mice, guinea pigs, lizards, snakes, tarantulas, et al. --feeling healthy, happy and loved year round!
My husband and I and our two amazing dogs Clementine and Napoleon reside in Mentor-on-the-Lake, Ohio along
the scenic Lake Erie coastline. We have a large, double-fenced-in
yard, big enough to wear out our two furry, energetic kids and their occasional doggie friends with frequent games of fetch, and are located near several wonderful
dog-friendly parks, including Mentor Beach Park, Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve,
and Veterans Memorial Park.
Within walking distance, our 450-acre nature preserve features the
largest unbroken bluff forest in Northeast Ohio;
along with a gorgeous, thinly-populated, still-wild beach where your dogs can spend
many fun-packed hours running along the shore, and for those dogs who love the
water, swimming during the warm summer months.
The 100-acre Veterans Memorial Park is
also within walking distance from our home, with winding trails that loop in
and out of woods and native wetlands, and which boasts over 800 feet of
beautiful boardwalk. Young Tom Sawyer fishermen with their stick poles and
seasoned fishermen alike gather on the piers at Granger Pond, the largest
inland lake in Lake
County stocked regularly
with catfish, bass, bluegill and rainbow trout. There, along the pond’s sandy
banks, your dog can soak up the sights after a long hike and watch the geese,
ducks, Trumpeter Swans, and solitary Great Blue Heron. Herds of white-tailed deer and their adorable
spotted babies are also ubiquitous in our area and can be glimpsed at both the preserve and Veterans
Park.
All three parks are so close to our
home, they feel like an extension of our own back yard and provide exceptional year-round
invigorating exercise, exploration, and play for our own dogs and dogs left in
our care. On rare occasions, when severe
inclement weather prohibits long walks, we make sure your dog is given as many
opportunities as possible for exercise, play, companionship, and shorter, more
frequent walks, closer to home.
Meet the
Dog Walkers
Mary Roulette is a life-long dog lover and owner and provides
pet sitting for Mentor, Ohio and surrounding Lake County suburbs. She
is also a Lake County Licensed Substitute
Teacher with a recent background check, and a third year
graduate student enrolled in Kent State’s Creative Writing Program. Her love of dogs has naturally carried over into her writing. "Dog," one of her award winning poems, is featured on this web site under Fun
Facts, Quotes and Poetry; and the protagonist of the novel she is
currently at work on just so happens to be--what else?--a dog walker!
Mary's husband Ron is also a
life-long dog lover
and owner, an employee of General Electric for several years and a Lake
County
Dog Walker. He, along with Mary, is ready to step
into his tennis shoes at a moment’s notice to walk a dog, pet sit day or
night,
bathe and brush, trim nails, scoop poop, and provide pet taxis to and
from the
vet and groomer.
FYI: All dogs, regardless of size or breed, need to be taken
on daily
walks! Walking is one of the most necessary daily routines for your
dogs' mental and overall health and well being. Dogs are naturally and
instinctively walker/travelers. Dog packs rise in the morning and start
trekking right off. Large back yards, dog parks, and doggie daycares
may provide adequate space to exercise your pet but cannot extinguish a
dog's natural drive to walk.
According to Cesar
Millan, a dog's back yard "is like a large fish bowl in which they are
trapped inside. Fish
swim, birds fly and dogs walk. Having a dog should not be about only
fulfilling our human needs; we owe it to our dogs to give them what
THEY need."
Let Lake County Dog Walkers help you walk your
dogs today. Your dogs will love
you for it!
