Benefits of In-Your-Home Pet Sitting
Choosing a pet sitter over a kennel or boarding facility has several important advantages.  Primarily, your pets remain safe and comfortable in their everyday environment – with their favorite toys, dog beds and napping places; familiar sights, sounds and smells and, most importantly, are not exposed to unfamiliar animals. Some pets return home from doggie daycare, boarding facilities or the kennel ill – at no fault of the kennel or facility! It’s like sending your children off to school…they may be exposed to things they aren't exposed to at home.

We also follow your pets' customary diets and exercise routines. We provide loving, personalized attention for your pets, including those with special needs. And our regular visits are a built-in crime-deterrent while you're away.

Summer and Holidays are a pet sitter's busiest times, so let us know as soon as possible when you’ll be away. For pet-sitting reservations, whether your house or ours, we recommend at least two weeks notice. For the following eight major holidays, a month in advance is recommended, though not always necessary: Easter, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve and Day. Please call (440) 257-4589 or e-mail lcdw@roadrunner.com to make your reservations; or you may leave your reservation request in the Comments  section on the Contact Us page of our web site and we will confirm your date as soon as possible.

While we do our best to accommodate spur of the moment pet sitting reservations, if at all possible,  please try to contact us one or  two weeks prior to your leaving to schedule your complimentary Meet-and-Greet.  This gives us plenty of time to gather your client/pet information in a timely manner. Please provide us with a key, and if it’s a new one, be sure to try it out first before you leave. It's also a good idea to buy a little extra food, litter and supplies in case you’re gone longer than anticipated.

Your Pets
We will need to know your pets daily routines, e.g., meal times, nap and bed times, his/her special toys, plus their particular foods/servings and any medications. Prior to leaving your pets in our care, we ask that they be current with all immunizations and that you provide us with an up-to-date immunization record. All pets must be reasonably clean; flea-and-tick free.

Before You Leave
In a designated area(s), we ask that you leave your pets’ food, bowls, leashes and medications. If we’re visiting after dark, please leave a light on.  It’s safer for us and nice for your pets too. Also, make certain the phone numbers of the places you'll be staying at and your vet’s phone number are accurate in the rare instance of a pet emergency.

Your Return
If Earlier Than ExpectedPlease give us a call to let us know you'll be home early, and we'll revise our schedule. Email is fine, but call too and leave a voice mail no matter what time of day. We're sorry, but there are no refunds for early returns as your pet-sitting time slot may be difficult if not impossible to fill on such short notice by another client.

If Later Than Expected: We will need to arrange for additional visits for your pets. Please let us know as soon as possible that your trip will be extended. Also, in addition to email, please call no matter the time of day and leave a voice mail. We will return your call as soon as possible.
