Benefits of In-Your-Home Pet Sitting

Choosing Lake County Dog Walkers for your pet sitting and dog walking needs has several important advantages. Primarily, your pets remain safe, stress free, and comfortable in their everyday environment – with their favorite toys, dog beds and napping places; familiar sights, sounds and smells

We also follow your pets' customary diets and exercise routines. And we provide loving, personalized attention for your pets, including those with special needs.

Summer and Holidays are a pet sitter's busiest times, so let us know as soon as possible when you’ll be away. For pet-sitting reservations, we recommend at least two weeks notice. For the following eight major holidays, a month in advance is recommended, though not always necessary: Easter, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day, New Years Eve and Day. Please call 440-231-4765; or e-mail LCDW@roadrunner.com to make your reservations. You may also leave your reservation request on our Contact page, and we will confirm your date as soon as possible.

While we do our best to accommodate spur-of-the-moment pet sitting reservations, if at all possible, please try to contact us one or two weeks prior to your leaving to schedule your complimentary Meet-and-Greet. This allows us time to gather your client/pet information in a timely manner. Please provide us with a key, and if it’s a new one, be sure to try it out first before you leave. It's also a good idea to buy a little extra food, litter and supplies in case you’re gone longer than anticipated.

National Holidays

National Holidays and Christmas and New Year's Eve: $5 surcharge per visit. Please call ahead; we fill up fast for the holidays!

Your Pets

We will need to know your pets daily routines, e.g., meal times, nap and bed times, his/her special toys, plus their particular foods/servings and any medications. Prior to leaving your pets in our care, we ask that they be current with all immunizations and that you provide us with an up-to-date immunization record. All pets must be reasonably clean; flea-and-tick free.

Before You Leave

We ask that you leave your pets’ food, bowls, leashes and medication in a designated area(s). If we’re visiting after dark, please leave a light on. It’s safer for us and nice for your pets too. Also, make certain the phone numbers of the places you'll be staying at and your vet’s phone number are accurate in the rare instance of a pet emergency.

Your Return

If Earlier Than Expected: Please give us a call to let us know you'll be home early, and we'll revise our schedule. Email is fine, but call too and leave a voice mail no matter what time of day.

If Later Than Expected: We will need to arrange for additional visits for your pets. Please let us know as soon as possible that your trip will be extended. Also, in addition to email, please call no matter the time of day and leave a voice mail. We will return your call as soon as possible.
